The choice of name is not random.
“Odysseo” (the Greek name for Ulysses) was, in fact, a great and valiant rebel fighter, just as rebel is the vine from which we make this wine: Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso.
There are many passages in the Odyssey where Homer mentions wine.
So Ulysses thought that this wine, which a human being could only drink diluted in twenty parts of water, if made to drink absolutely to the giant Polyphemus, the monster who held him and his surviving companions in his grip, could make him fall into a deep sleep and thus allow him to take his revenge, and so it happened.
Through his travels, Odysseus teaches us that the purpose of our existence is to continue to discover, experience, navigate and travel, and therefore to live.
He teaches us to seize the moment and go beyond our human frailties to overcome our limitations.
